Two New Principals Stepping In At Phoenixville Schools
The PASD board named new principals for Barkley Elementary and the Early Learning Center.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Phoenixville Area School District has two new principals, one at the Early Learning Center and another at Barkley Elementary School.
In its Nov. 15 meeting the PASD School Board of Directors approved the appointments.
Dr. Keya Champagne-Lee was named principal at the Early Learning Center, to begin Feb. 1, 2021. Current principal Dr. Mwenyewe Dawan will leave PASD to accept a position as Assistant Superintendent in the Wissahickon School District.

Champagne-Lee has been the Principal at Barkley Elementary since 2011. The board noted that Champagne-Lee has "demonstrated a strong, effective leadership style which will serve her well in her new responsibilities at the Early Learning Center."
Dr. Khalid Sutton will step into the role of Principal at Barkley Elementary. Sutton served as the Barkley Interim Principal during the 2019-20 school year. Sutton has more than 9 years of experience as a building and district-level administrator.

"We are excited to welcome him back in this permanent position," the board said. "He brings a high level of enthusiasm and expertise with him to his new role at Barkley."
"We are so very fortunate to have not one but two education professionals of this caliber assuming such key roles in our District," said Phoenixville Area School District Superintendent Dr. Alan Fegley.
Fegley added, "Both Dr. Champagne-Lee and Dr. Sutton are outstanding administrators. Their respective skills sets are extensive and impressive, and I am excited to see what the future holds for both of them and the buildings they will lead."
