VIDEO: Fenix Bar Serves Up Specialty Cocktails and Live Music

The neighborhood staple is the next subject of the Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce's new video series.

The Fenix Bar on Bridge Street in Phoenixville has been through lots of changes in the past year, as new management transformed it from a martini bar to a blues/jazz bar that serves up craft beers alongside its signature cocktails.

One of the shepherds leading the transition, General Manager Ryan Norris, says the new identity has helped the Fenix remain one of Phoenixville’s unique nightlife destinations.

“We had a vision to grow the Fenix into a place where you could hear live jazz and blues music every night,” Norris says in the latest video added to the Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s series highlighting local businesses.

“The goal for Find it in Phoenixville is quite simple,” said Jessica Capistrant, president and CEO of the Chamber. ”It’s the Chamber’s effort to familiarize residents and visitors alike with their business community, and potentially other great organizations.”

The plan is to create at least 20 videos of local businesses and groups, Capistrant said. So far, features on Bridge Street Chocolates, LuLu Boutique and Gifterie, and Mod House Vintage have been completed. They are posted weekly on the Chamber’s Vimeo page and the organization’s homepage.

According to Capistrant, staff members produce and storyboard videos and scripts, and an intern from the University of Valley Forge directs and shoots the film.

“We have other students who have shot and edited,” Capistrant says, “as well as a student who produced the music you hear, and another friend through the university who helped us develop the graphics. It’s all local, and we’re very proud of that.”
