Why Does The Heatwave Make Her Smile?

One of Phoenixville Patch's newest bloggers has some tasty ways to tackle the heat.

With temperatures expected to top out well into the 90s Tuesday and for the rest of the week, not many people are smiling about the heat.

An excessive heat warning has been issued for the region through Friday.

Claire Sasko has some tasty reasons to smile. She is one of Phoenixville Patch's newest bloggers and she also works at Yum Yum Yogurt on Bridge Street in Phoenixville which opened for business in March.

They have a wide variety of flavors to help you cool down as the temperatures go up.  As the sun beat down on Bridge Street during the Blobfest on Saturday, they were serving up cool cups of fan favorites.

Yum Yum Yogurt also ordered two new orange and blue blob flavors for the occasion. These flavors are Blue Daiquiri Ice Sorbet and Orange Sorbet, and they are both dairy free. You may be wondering why they aren’t pink like the blob.

As an employee, I will say the flavors were chosen for variety, as the store already has a pink strawberry flavored yogurt. We predicted that children and families would enjoy these flavors the most, and they have been sampled far more than any other flavor.

People visiting from all over have come to Yum Yum Yogurt to enjoy our blob flavors. On Saturday, I met people from Long Island, New York, Reading, and Washington D.C. All were happily in town for the festival and picked either the blue or orange flavors, or sometimes both.

It’s hard to say which flavor has been more popular. The blob on our front window is seen eating Blue Daiquiri Ice Sorbet. Stop in today to try a sample! No matter what flavor you choose, you’ll find it’s almost impossible to “beware of the blob!”
