$325,000 Cash 5 Prize Still Unclaimed in Pottstown

Are you the winner of a $325,000 Pennsylvania Lottery prize? If so, you have until March 18 to claim your winnings.

According to NewsWorks.org, there is a still unclaimed prize in the Pottstown area. A patron of the Pottstown Wawa, located at 1500 High St., purchased the winning ticket last year.

The numbers, 5-9-13-33-35, according to NewsWorks, were all five met on the lucky winner's ticket. That winner, however, has still not come forward to claim the prize.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery's website, unclaimed funds will be absorbed.

"Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians," said the site.

A similar situation happened with a ticket in January, as Patch reported at the time.

"The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Cole's Tobacco in Pottstown on January 27, 2012, with the winning numbers of 14, 23, 25, 33 and 43. The jackpot has a value of $330,000," said the Patch.com article dated Dec. 10.

The lottery is unique in this state.

"The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery that designates all its proceeds to programs that benefit older residents," said the Lottery site. "Since its inception in 1971, the Pennsylvania Lottery has contributed more than $22.6 billion to programs that include property tax and rent rebates; free transit and reduced-fare shared rides; the low-cost prescription drug programs PACE and PACENET; long-term living services; and the 52 Area Agencies on Aging, including full- and part-time senior centers throughout the state."
