Derailed Train Blocks Access to MCCC in Pottstown

It is still unknown what occurred along the tracks to derail the train.

Around rush hour in Pottstown, traffic was even further disrupted by a train that had derailed along Keystone Boulevard near the Montgomery County Community College (MCCC).

According to reports in the Pottstown Mercury, the train derailed around 5 p.m. Thursday evening. It was a Norfolk Southern freight train.

The train was in the way of MCCC students trying to get to class, just as they resumed to full schedule today after Hurricane Sandy delays and cancellations.
