Dr. Scholl's Outlet Thefts Lead to Felony Charges for Pottstown Man

Brandon Yost, 26, of Pottstown, is facing felony forgery charges after he allegedly devised a scheme to bilk the Doctor Scholl's outlet store out of more than $1,250.

A Pottstown man is facing felony forgery charges after he allegedly devised a scheme to forge in-store returns and pocket the cash.

Brandon Yost, 26, has been charged with second-degree felony forgery, theft by deception and receiving stolen property, after management at the Dr. Scholl's outlet store at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets reportedly noticed discrepancies and what appeared to be falsified returns.

According to the store manager, Yost would allegedly log into the system, scan a similar item as if it had been returned, then forge the customer's signature on a return slip and take the cash out of the register. The manager reportedly told police that they had records of 17 cash returns that were fraudulently made under Yost's employee login, totalling $1,252.31.
