Featured Government: Pottstown

The following items are scheduled to be discussed at the Pottstown Borough Council meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday: 

• an ordinance establishing protection and enforcement provisions

• an agreement between Pottstown and to purchase for $1

• whether to forgive $10,000 owed the borough by the Pottstown Area Industrial Development, Inc.

• a motion to ratify disciplinary action of a Pottstown police officer

• a motion to appoint Ben Moscia to the Pottstown Downtown Improvement District Authority to fill a vacant term to expire January 1, 2014

In other Pottstown news:

The public water system will be flushed from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout October. According to the borough, "If water appears brown or rust colored, run the cold water for a few minutes until it is clear." To learn more, call the borough's Public Works Dept. at 610-970-6527.

Pottstown will host its annual Halloween Parade on High Street at 7 p.m. Oct. 19.
