Fugitive Murder Suspect From Montco Arrested By U.S. Marshals In California
Tyshaun Harvey, 21, of Pottstown, was picked up by U.S. Marshals in California. Harvey is wanted in connection with a Montco killing.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A local man authorities were seeking to locate in connection with a Montgomery County killing this spring has been arrested in the western United States, according to Pennsylvania prosecutors.
The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday that U.S. Marshals arrested Pottstown resident Tyshaun Harvey, 21, at a motel room in Susanville, California, a rural town close to the Nevada border.
Harvey was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Nahmer Baird in Pottstown back on May 29.

In mid-June, authorities announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for Harvey, who subsequently became a fugitive from justice when he fled the commonwealth.
The DA's Office on Wednesday said that when Harvey was picked up by federal authorities, he had been staying with a California woman in a hotel room they rented.

Harvey was arrested without incident and is expected to be extradited to Montgomery County to face first-degree murder and other charges, prosecutors stated.
"U.S. Marshals did an excellent job in finding this dangerous criminal and working to safely get him off the streets after he fled to California," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a statement. "Harvey will now be extradited and faces charges for the killing of Nahmer Baird."
During the course of their investigation, Montgomery County detectives learned that Harvey was out on bail after posting 10 percent of $100,000 bail in connection with a separate case, which involved a different Pottstown shooting that took place back in late March 2021.
In that pending case, Harvey is being charged with numerous felonies including aggravated assault.
Baird died after being shot at Locust Alley and West Street in Pottstown Borough, according to the DA's Office.
Investigators determined that an exchange of gunfire had taken place between a black Chrysler 300 owned and driven by Harvey and the victim's white Nissan Sentra.
Detectives said that Harvey had been following Baird's vehicle for about 40 minutes before the gunfire erupted, and that Baird had been attempting to elude Harvey for much of that time.
The reason why Harvey may have been following Baird has not be divulged.
After being shot, Baird drove his vehicle for about two blocks before crashing head-first into a Dodge pickup truck, the DA's Office stated.
