“This event was a success for our Pottstown Marching Band family on many levels," Vought said. "Our show is geared toward entertaining the crowd and the kids delivered an exciting performance that had the audience smiling and tapping their toes to the music. The highlight of the evening was when they announced who won the Outstanding Pit Crew Award, an award that recognized the people who help create and maintain our pit percussion equipment, our trailer and our student instruments. When they read ‘Pottstown,' our kids exploded in cheers. I think this shows a mutual appreciation between the school and the community. We didn’t come in first place last night, but we accomplished something bigger; pride in our marching band, pride in our community, pride in Pottstown.”
