Montco Attorney Stole $300,000 From Historic Carousel Nonprofit: DA

An arrest warrant has been issued for the man, now a resident of Florida, officials said.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Florida man stole some $300,000 from a Montgomery County nonprofit that oversees the historic Carousel at Pottstown, the district attorney's office announced Friday.

A warrant has been issued Adam Seger, 56, a resident of Sarasota, Florida, who has not yet been taken into custody.

The theft occurred back in June 2019, though authorities were not aware of it until Feb. 2025.

Sager was a board member and attorney for the Carousel at Pottstown, which runs the second oldest operating wooden carousel — made by the Philadelphia Carousel Company — in the United States.

The Carousel approved a large renovation of the Carousel and sought private donations to finance the work, police said.

Sager said he would contact a local philanthropist to finance the $300,000 work, according to authorities. However, he also arranged for a $300,000 line of a credit loan for the the non-profit, using falsified board documents alleging that they supported the loan.

Sager then kept the $300,000 donation to pay off the credit loan, no improvement work on the Carousel was made, and the Carousel never received the funds that had been donated, authorities said.

Sager has been charged with multiple felony counts of theft deception, theft by failing to make required dispositions, forgery, and related counts.
