Norristown Man Wanted In Pottstown Shooting Captured In Florida: Feds

The shooting at a local community center stemmed from an argument on the basketball court.

POTTSTOWN, PA — A Norristown man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred outside a Pottstown community center last month was captured in Florida, federal officials announced.

Lamar Lewis, 21, was caught by U.S. Marshals without incident in Miami Beach, they confirmed.

The incident occurred at the Richard J. Ricketts Center in Pottstown just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Two people were injured when Lewis fired his gun during an argument on the basketball court, according to authorities and multiple media reports.

Both injuries were minor and the victims are recovering.

Lewis fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting and they are seeking another suspect involved in the incident.
