POTTSTOWN, PA — Officials in Pottstown have issued a boil water advisory to residents after multiple water main breaks this week.

The main on S. Price Street and Cherry Street began leaking on Monday, Dec. 9. Authorities then shut down the water main on S. Price Street between Center Avenue and South Avenue, which is roughly the impacted area.

"If you experienced a disruption of water service or are not sure if your water service was disrupted, as a precaution: DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST," the borough said in a statement.

To boil water for use, let it boil for one minute before cooling. Water should be boiled for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and all food preparation.

It is not clear when the main will be repaired.
