Pottstown Views The Blues

Fine artist and Pottstown resident Raun Kercher's "The Blues Series and Kings of Jazz" is displayed at MOSAIC Community Land Trust, 10 South Hanover Street in Pottstown.

Raun Kercher's work brings blues legends to life in Pottstown.

Kercher, a borough resident and fine artist, created "The Blues Series and Kings of Jazz" which is displayed at MOSAIC Community Land Trust, 10 South Hanover Street in Pottstown.

"They're all blues and jazz inspired pieces," Kercher said of his work which reflects the days of music greats such as Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins and Chuck Berry. "I really felt it was very innovative ... a very key part in American history."

Kercher is also a freelance web and graphic designer at Raun Design.

According to the MOSAIC Community Land Trust website, the group "is a nonprofit sustainable model" for:
• community involvement and partnerships
• increased home ownership
• neighborhood stabilization
• arts and culture
• healthy lifestyles and community gardens
• job creation and entrepreneurship
