Pottstown's Rupert Elementary Principal Was Named Distinguished Principal
Pottstown's Rupert Elementary Principal Matt Moyer earned national recognition recently and was named Distinguished Principal.
POTTSTOWN, PA — The principal of Pottstown's Rupert Elementary School was recognized among outstanding principals nationwide.
October is recognized as National Principals Month, recognizing that building principals set the academic tone for their schools. It is their vision, dedication, and determination that helps mobilize staff, students, and families to achieve student success, Pottstown School District said in a news statement.
"Rupert Elementary principal Matt Moyer is an example of the outstanding principals in the Pottstown School District," said District Communications Manager John Armato.

Moyer was honored recently by the National Association Of Elementary School Principals with its Distinguished Principal Award. He was one of 37 public school elementary and middle school principals nationwide to receive the designation.
National Association Of Elementary School Principals Distinguished Principal Award program "honors outstanding elementary and middle-level principals who ensure that America’s children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. Each year, NAESP congratulates principals from across the nation, in both public and private schools, and overseas, for their exemplary achievements," the organization's website explained.

The award was presented at the annual national conference, where Moyer received a framed certificate and an engraved school bell.
During the conference, he also did double duty as a presenter. His topic was Using Social Media to Promote Your School. The District said Moyer has demonstrated "great skill using social media as he shares the story of his school."
Moyer said, "I am proud of the work we do at Rupert and our entire district. Our district building administrators are committed to our mission: Prepare each student by name for success at every level."
