Dear Open Doors Committee Members and Partners:
The Open Doors II event on Saturday, September 10, 2011, attracted thousands of people to downtown Pottstown and the high school campus.
It was a day to invite all to our community, inform people of the outstanding activities and resources that Pottstown has to offer, inspire our young people to strive for academic excellence, and honor the fallen victims of 9/11 and the members of the military and first responders who defend our country.

The event is a massive undertaking that is many months in the planning. A broad spectrum of individuals and groups give freely of their time, effort, supplies, and financial support. The community partnerships with the school district, the borough, and numerous church and civic organizations allowed Pottstown to be showcased for all to see the positive power that can be generated by a common vision, mission, and goal.
It would not be possible to individually name and thank everyone who volunteered their time and services to make this a day to remember.

A heartfelt thank you to all who played a role in opening Pottstown’s doors! Critical to the effort to generate support and enthusiasm was the participation of our local media including PCTV, WPAZ, The Community Connection, Pottstown Patch, and Pottstown Post.
A special thank you to The Mercury, Reporter Mr. Evan Brandt, and Editor Mrs. Nancy March for their efforts to report on this event.
The door to a better tomorrow has been opened. As a community, let us step into a bright future.
This event and all the selfless efforts that made it a success is one more reason why I say, “proud to be from Pottstown.”
John J. Armato, CCA
