RADNOR TWP — The U.S. The Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration awarded a $22.8 million grant to Philadelphia Works Inc. to develop training programs for the underserved communities in southeastern Pennsylvania, U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon announced Thursday.
“I’m so pleased to see funding from the American Rescue Plan continue to flow into Pennsylvania to advance our region’s workforce priorities and accelerate equitable economic recovery,” said Scanlon, a Democrat who represents all of Delaware County and portions of Philadelphia, Chester and Montgomery counties.
The training programs are for jobs in the healthcare, clean energy, and construction industries. The grant is funded through the American Rescue Plan Good Jobs Challenge.
