Join us for a Talk about the Historic Fair Hill Burial Ground & Historic Fair Hill
Presented by Kerry Roeder, Executive Director of Historic Fair Hill.
Learn about the history of this Quaker burial ground, on land first donated in 1703 by George Fox, the founder of the Religious Society of Friends. The final resting place of famous advocates for human rights, Lucretia Mott and Robert Purvis, among others, the burial ground fell into disrepair over the years.
Historic Fair Hill is an organization that has grown up around the refurbishment and stewardship of the Burial Ground. Through time, that led to a collaboration with the surrounding Fairhill neighborhood in Philadelphia. That effort then developed into an organization whose mission it is to act as a collaborative partner in the revitalization of the Fairhill Community through school partnerships for literacy, greening and community engagement.
