Hundreds Flock To South Wayne PorchFest Saturday

RADNOR, PA —From Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and Blondie to Taylor Swift, Kate Perry, and the string bands, there was live music for everyone on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the South Wayne PorchFest 2022.

Several hundred men, women and children walked the streets of Wayne enjoying each other's company after being isolated for two years due to the outbreak of the pandemic.

The Wayne section of Radnor Township was saturated with smiling faces listening to the music and socializing.

One festival-goer described it like this: “It was a beautiful day filled with music, perfect weather and a great sense of community pride.”

The festivities opened with Valley Forge Military Academy & College Regimental Band marching along Windermere and Louella avenues to Midland Avenue and St. Davids Road.

There were more than 50 musical acts performing on 35 porches. Radnor police provided security.

The event was walkable for resident in the Wayne area. Parking and restrooms were provided at St. Katharine of Siena School.

Cathy Agnew, event organizer, thanked musicians, sponsors, volunteers, designers and the entire community for their tireless efforts in making the event a success.

South Wayne PorchFest 2022 is modeled after a similar program that began in Ithaca, N.Y. in 2007.
