RADNOR TWP —The COVID-19 pandemic caused a lot of havoc for the last two years in local school districts throughout the state.

Schools closed and parents were called in to help their children attend virtual classes.

The school districts received $2.2 billion, an increase of $525 million, or 7 %, over last year’s spending plan.

Radnor School District received $2.68 million million, 12.% increase over last year’s allocation.

The Radnor school board adopted a $110.3 million school budget for the 2022-23 school year on May 24, amounting to a 5% increase over last year's spending plan.

The budget calls for a 2.26% millage increase to 14.23 mills. This amounts to an average tax increase of $218 for a home assessed at $694,908.

The budget includes the purchase of low emission propane school buses to continue the transition from diesel fuel vehicles.

The state Homestead Rebate provided a $370.57 reduction in property taxes for 4,943 property owners. The funding comes from the state gambling revenues.
