Plastic Bags Are On the Way Out In Radnor
Radnor Township residents and retailers have six months to stop using plastic bags, effective Sept. 15.
RADNOR, PA —Radnor Township Board of Commissioners approved a single-use carryout bag ordinance, effective Thursday, Sept. 15.
Retailers and residents have six months to comply with the new ordinance.
Bags used to package bulk items like fruit and vegetables, newspaper and laundry bags are exempt under the ordinance.

Several municpalities in the region have banned single bags including Philadelphia; Easttown and Haverford townships; and Narberth and West Chester boroughs. Tredyffrin Township is considering the ban.
Retailers may provide recyclable bags and residents are encouraged to bring their own bags.

Under the ordinance, violators would carry a $50 fine for the first offense; a $100 fine for the second offense, and $200 fine for the third offense.
