Radnor Firefighters Extinguish Ceiling Fire In Villanova home

Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours early Saturday morning.

RADNOR, PA - Radnor firefighters extinguished a ceiling fire early Saturday morning on Ivy Lane in the Villanova section of the township.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:22 a.m. to a carbon monoxide alarm.

Prior to firefighters arrival, the township police reported a smoking ceiling fire in the ceiling of a rear patio.

Firefighters said they used saws to open the ceiling, revealing extensive damage to the plywood and a wooden beam between the ceiling and the room above.

A damage estimate was unavailable.

During a check of the interior of the home, damage was discovered to the floor above the light.
