Radnor Police Earn State Accreditation
The recognition means the department met high-level standards set by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission.

RADNOR, PA —Radnor Township Police Department earned accreditation under a statewide program requiring police departments to adhere to a set of high standards.
Police Superintendent Christopher B. Flanagan said accreditation status will help the department evaluate and improve its performance.

Springfield Superintendent of Police Joseph J. Daly presented an official Pennsylvania Law
Enforcement Accreditation Commission certificate.
In July 2021, the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association introduced the program.
Since then, 147 agencies currently have attained accredited status.
The benefits include reduction in agency risk and exposure to lawsuits; a decrease in some liability insurance expenditures; and improved law enforcement-community relations.
Flanagan thanked the commissioners and William M. White, township manager for support and encouragement in reaching the goal.
Accreditation is an ongoing process in which the department has established criteria and has criteria verified by three independent assessors during a mock and on-site assessment.
The assessors review training, services, equipment, policies, and participate in “ride-alongs” to verify compliance with the acceptable best practices.
Accreditation affects every component of the department and assures the community is receiving professional police services.
White said the recognition is a coveted award that symbolizes professionalism, excellence, and competence in the law enforcement profession.
