Suspicious Person Arrested At Villanova University

VILLANOVA, PA —A 43-year-old Bryn Mawr man is charged with walking around Villanova University’s campus without permission and then becoming combative with university public safety officials.

Anthony DiMaio is free on $100,000 bail after being arraigned Saturday before District Judge Leon Hunter III, Newtown Square on charges of aggravated and simple assault, public drunkenness and related charges.

“Dimaio has been issued a no-trespass order and is banned from University property,” said Police Chief David Tedjeske. Villanova University director of public safety. “Do not engage with this person.”

Tedjeske asked anyone who sees DiMaio to contact the public safety office at 610-519-4444.

  • On Friday evening, Villanova University Public Safety received a report from a student about a suspicious male walking in one of the courtyards at the Commons.
  • According to the report, the male did not appear to be a student and was having difficulty walking and maintaining his balance.
  • Public Safety officers encountered the male near the Performing Arts Center and during this encounter, the male became combative.
  • DiMaio was subsequently arrested by Radnor police for aggravated assault, resisting arrest and other offenses.
