"Unity In Our Community" Brought Radnor Residents Together

Several hundred turned out Saturday for the township's fourth annual block party.

RADNOR, PA —Hundreds turned out on a sunny Saturday afternoon for the 4th annual “Unity in Our Community” block party to celebrate the end of the summer.

After more than two years of social distancing due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, Radnor residents got the chance to socialize en masse.

The party provided locals and visitors alike with musical entertainment, refreshments, and great conversations.

The celebration also helped local children in need get ready for school.

More than 60 backpacks filled with school supplies including colored markers, crayons, pencils, dry erase pens, glue sticks, and binders were distributed to children.

The Rev. Howard Childs of the Second Baptist Church in Wayne jammed with friends to the Cha Cha Slide.

Police Superintendent Chris Flannigan supervised children taking a seat on a Radnor police motorcycle to see what it’s like on highway patrol.

Fresh burgers were grilled.

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and Christ Church Ithan provided spin art and other arts and crafts projects.n Artist Van Buren Payne displayed his paintings.

The locals are already gearing up for next year’s party.
