The case has been delayed several times due to changing defense attorneys for obtaining psychological evaluations.

The prosecution is seeking first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison.

Friends described the victim in a GoFundMe page as “a proud occupational therapist; helping the elderly as well as children with special needs.

"Our loss cannot be stated in words, but she will be remembered for the lives she changed for the better,” a friend was quoted.

According to court records:

  • Kennedy is accused of killing Miller with an AR-15-style rifle about 8:20 p.m. at the Wawa. Authorities said Kennedy bought the rifle about two weeks before the shooting.
  • Miller went to Wawa to meet Kennedy to pick up her 6-year-old son when she was fatally shot. The two were divorced in 2013 and had a custody agreement.
  • The security camera at the Wawa has images of Kennedy walking in the convenience store with the AR-15.
  • Radnor Township police arrested Kennedy about two hours later in Thornbury Park.

Three years before the slaying, Kennedy was arrested for threatening to kill Miller at the same Wawa.
