Salisbury Court Loses $3,000 in Check Cashing Scam

Salisbury Township Police search for forgers who used Pizza Hut checks to withdraw nearly $3,000 from District Judge Michael J. Pochron's court bank account.

are investigating the theft of nearly $3,000 from the bank account of , which serves Salisbury and Fountain Hill, according to court records and the Salisbury Press.

District Judge Michael J. Pochron notified police on July 11 that eight fraudulent checks were used to withdraw money from his court's bank account, according to the criminal complaint.

One person has already been arrested and charged in connection with the case. , 21, was arrested and charged with allegedly cashing two separate fraudulent checks worth $661 on June 25 at Walmarts in Lower Macungie and Whitehall, according to the arrest affidavit.

The checks, which were made out to Osorto, listed Keystone Pizza Partners, LLC as the payor on the checks but used the district court's bank routing number, the documents said. Keystone Pizza Partners does business as Pizza Hut.

Osorto was arraigned Monday in court in Coopersburg on two felony counts of forgery, two counts of theft by deception, two counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of writing bad checks, according to the criminal complaint.

Osorto was sent to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 6.
