Bingo 'Fun' Raiser At St. Thomas More

The women's guild brought together some 200 women (and men) for a night of bingo and good cheer.

It was a "fun" raiser, not a fund-raiser.

More than 200 people, mostly women, got together Thursday night at St. Thomas More's parish center for a Bags and Basket Bingo.

"It's to bring women of the parish together for a fun night," said M.J. Muller, president of the church's women's guild, which sponsored the event.Β

At the same time, those who turned out for the three-hour event brought chocolate bunnies and other Easter items that will be put into Easter baskets for children staying at Turning Point, a shelter for battered women.

Thursday's bingo was one of 17 events that the St. Thomas More Women's Guild sponsors each year. Other events include a mother-daughter breakfast and a mother-son roller skating party.
