DevonHouse Wants to Expand

Neighbor wants assurance noise will stop from generators, alarms and early-morning garbage and delivery trucks at DevonHouse Senior Living.

DevonHouse Senior Living plans to expand its facility in Salisbury Township and add 10 beds.

DevonHouse owner James Gentile, who is president of North Star Construction Management, wants to add 3,468 square feet on the north side of the existing building at 1930 Bevin Drive, and an additional 10 beds to the facility.

The Salisbury Township Planning Commission recommended the land development and preliminary/final plan for approval at its Oct. 9 meeting. The commission's recommendation will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for approval.

Rob Eberwein, who lives in the neighborhood, wanted assurance at the meeting that noise from generators, alarms and garbage and delivery trucks arriving between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. would not continue.

Eberwein said neighbors had complained in the past about the noise. He said delivery trucks have made beeping noises for 45 minutes.
