Everything You Need to Know About The Celtic Classic
Dorney Park's Boo Blast, National Museum Day and going on a fall foliage trip are all best bets for this weekend.

TheΒ CelticΒ ClassicΒ Highland Games & FestivalΒ returns to downtown historicΒ Bethlehem this weekend for its 26th year. The festival kicks off at 5:15 p.m. Friday with the annual Haggis Bowl. The showing of the Tartan Parade begins at 11:30 a.m.Β on Saturday and leads guests from Main Street to Highland field.Β Highlights include theΒ U.S. National Highland Game Championships, and a variety of celtic music, including the annual pipe band competition. - Dorney's Park'sΒ Boo BlastΒ offersΒ daytime Halloween fun for kids this weekend.Β Boo BlastΒ is free with park admission and open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. (Planet Snoopy is open until 8 p.m. on Saturday). Dorney is offering aΒ September special of $25 per ticket for four or more tickets purchased online.Β New this year is the Mansion House Hotel where kids can wander haunted hallways in search of friendly ghosts.

- More than 170,000 people are expected to volunteerΒ SaturdayΒ at sites across the United States. Itβs the 20th anniversary ofΒ National Public Lands Day, and its 20th anniversary. The effort began with three sites and 700 volunteers. Last year was the biggest year yet with 175,000 volunteers and 2,206 sites. There are 40 Pennsylvania sites are taking part in the National Public Lands DayΒ on Saturday,Β including these local sites.
- Dozens of local museums are taking part in Museum Day Live this Saturday.Β All you need to do itΒ fill out this formΒ and you will be emailed a ticket that will admit two people to the museum of your choice for free onΒ Saturday, Sept. 28.
