Get Out: Five Things To Do This Weekend

1. The 25th Annual Mayfair Festival of the Arts
 
Where/When: Cedar Beach, Hamilton and Ott streets, West Allentown; 12 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday, May 27, Saturday, May 28, Sunday, May 29; 12 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday, May 30.

Why go: This annual celebration of music, dance, food, arts and crafts draws some top music acts and  is a smaller, saner version of Musikfest with a neighborhood feel.

Cost: $5 single day pass; $10 pass for entire festival; free for children ages 10 and under and military personnel with valid ID. Concerts free with festival admission, $15 preferred seating.
 
2. “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream”
 
Where/When: Performances of Shakespeare’s loved piece, as interpreted by Firebird Theatre, will start at 8 p.m., Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28, and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 29, at The Firebird Loft, 445 N. Seventh St., 2nd floor, Allentown. Call 610-217-7962 for more info.
 
Why go: For theater fans, there’s nothing more classic than Shakespeare.
 
Cost: Free with canned food donation.
 
3. Chansonette Fringe Fest
 
Where/When: Check out this music festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 28, at fairgrounds on 12th Street, between Church and Spring Garden Streets in Easton. More info at www.chansonnettefringe.com
 
Why go: In addition to live music, the fest will feature children’s entertainment, crafts, beer/wine and food.
 
4. Dave Roper Trio
 
Where/When: In the mood for live jazz? Head over to the Taproom at the Hotel Bethlehem, 437 Main St., Bethlehem, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 29.
 
Why go: The Dave Roper Trio is one of the most well-known groups in town. And you get to dress up.
 
Cost: Free to listen.
 
5. Salsa Sundays
 
Where/When: Learn how feel the Latin rhythms at the Allentown Brew Works, 812-816 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 29. More info at www.thebrewworks.com
 
Why go: No experience or partners necessary. Just dancing.
 
Cost: $10; $5 for students
