Lehigh Valley Health Network Will Build Sports Medicine Center

Lehigh Valley Health Network will be the primary tenant at the Allentown arena complex, build a sports medicine center and sponsor the Phantoms ice hockey team.

will build a sport medicine center in the planned $158 million arena complex in Allentown and sponsor the Phantoms minor-league ice hockey team, it was announced today.

The center will offer "outpatient rehab, screening to diagnose and treat concussions and brain injuries, a sports performance program for all ages, and a medical fitness center for the community and for members of the Phantoms," according to The Morning Call.

The health network will be the anchor tenant  and occupy five of the seven-story, 200,000 square-foot office building at the arena complex, the Easton-Express said.

Ronald Swinfard, Lehigh Valley Health Network president, said during a press conference today at city hall the lease is still being finalized, but will likely be five or 10 years, according to the Easton-Express.

"Swinfard said he expect the complex to include hundreds of jobs, which will be a combination of new hires and existing employees from other network locations. The fitness center will be open to the public and offer outpatient rehabilitation and screening to diagnose and treat concussions and brain injuries, Swinfard said."
