LVH Opens First Children's Hospital in Region
Children's Hospital at Lehigh Valley Hospital is not in a new building but the name reflects the health network's comprehensive pediatric services.
Lehigh Valley Hospital announced Tuesday it has a new name for its comprehensive pediatric services: Children's Hospital at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
While the children's hospital is not in a new building, most of its services are offered at in Salisbury Township. The children's clinic at Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th Street hospital in Allentown and the pediatric cancer center at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem will also be part of the Children's Hospital designation.
"The names tells the people of our community that they can get specialized health care for children closer to home," Dr. John Van Brakle, Lehigh Valley Health Network's chairman of pediatrics, was quoted in the Express-Times.

The hospitals have pediatric specialists in surgery, oncology, hemotology, anesthesiology, radiology, audiology, emergency medicine, among other specialties.
Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest opened the region's last year.
