Playground Program, Summer Library Hours Top Week Ahead

Last call! This is the final week to participate in Salisbury Township's Summer Playground Program. Township children who have completed Kindergarten through age 12 are eligible to participate. Program hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lindberg Park, Green Acres Park, Devonshire Park and Green Acres Park.

Summer library hours continue this week in the Salisbury School District. The Harry S. Truman School library will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday. Elementary school through high school students are welcome to use and check out books at this time. 

A Spiritual Developmental Workshop will be held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Hope United Church of Christ, located at 1031 Flexer Ave. in Salisbury Township. Coptic Church Bible Study will also be held at the church Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m.

Book Sale: The Allentown Public Library, in addition to the permanent book sale racks located by the first floor elevators, has a book sale room open periodically through the week. This book sale room includes lots of used  and "like new" books including best-sellers, classics, paperbacks and children's books. Call 610-820-2400 for more information.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lehigh Valley, 424 Center Street, Bethlehem, presents its Fourth Friday Community film and discussion series this Friday at 7 p.m.

Sign-ups for The Swain School's Creative Writing classes continue throughout the week.

Grace Community Church, located at 1290 Minesite Road, will hold Family Night on Wednesday. Supper is at 6 p.m., followed by meetings and activities for teens and children from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
