Salisbury Dog Wins Award at Westminster

"We're happy she got Best of Opposite, but we're kind of disappointed she didn't get Best of Breed," Meyer said. Rita's handler, Ken Bednar, formerly of Emmaus, was also disappointed, she said.

"We had hoped this would be the year that she would win the breed," Meyer said.

Rita came out of retirement last year after giving birth to a litter in August. In December, she won Best of Breed for the second consecutive year at the AKC/Eukanuba National Champtionship Dog Show show in Orlando.
