Salisbury: Don't Pay Local Tax Bills Online

Salisbury Township residents should pay their local taxes to the tax collector, not online through Xpress Bill Pay.

posted the following message on its Web site:

The electronic payment system recently established by the township in coordination with Xpress Bill Pay does not allow for the payment of any taxes.  Payments being collected online are for water, sewer and refuse bills. The payment of all taxes must be collected by the tax collector so the payment can be properly recorded and the funds transferred to the proper taxing authority.

Any electronic payments made for local taxes will be rejected and returned via the electronic payment system, which could take as much as 6 to 8 weeks to process, thereby delaying your payment.  Payments must be made directly to the tax collector and in the manner listed on your tax bill in order for payment to be considered as properly remitted and received by the tax collector in the required timeframe.
