Salisbury High School Gets Warning on PSSA Math Scores

Salisbury High School's 11th-graders' performance slips on PSSA test for first time, report says.

Salisbury High School fell into warning status in math for the first time on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment test, according to The Morning Call. Overall, more schools in the Lehigh Valley got poor marks for failing to meet testing targets this year, but was expected in part because federal benchmarks were raised.

The PSSA test is taken in grades 3-8 and 11.

Salisbury Superintendent Robert Gross said the staff is analyzing data to determine why the 11th-graders' performance slipped, the article said.

"Our middle schools knocked the socks off the test and elementary schools knocked the socks off the test," Gross said in the article. "Eleventh grade did not make the score for the first time. We're zeroed in on that, but by the same token we're concerned about all subjects. But we're going to take a real close look at that."
