Swain Excels at Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Competition

Swain School students placed first and second at the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition.

Each of students who competed in the recent regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science placed either first or second.

Of the 17 Swain seventh- and eighth grade students, 13 received first place awards, and four took second place honors.

Under the guidance of science teacher Debbie Lindsay, each student developed a thesis and then devised an experiment to substantiate it.  All of this work was completed at home and at school. The students made a presentation at the PJAS competition Feb. 25 at Easton Area High School, explaining their process and the results. In May the first place awardees will compete at the state PJAS competition at Penn State.
