Welcome to August! Today is Thursday, Aug. 1, which is expected to feature showers, thunderstorms and possible heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Here's what going on in and around Salisbury Township:
- The Bethlehem Farmers' Market will be celebrating the first day of August with Children's Beach Day. The market will be offering free face painting and sand art necklaces to all children in attendance. The fun starts at 11 a.m. at New & Morton Streets in Bethlehem.

- Salisbury High School grad Tommy Walters is among those performing in today's matinee performance of  "Footloose, The Musical," today at 2 p.m. at the Pines Dinner Theatre in Allentown.
- Philadelphia-based band Steal The Sky entertains tonight at at 8:30 p.m at the Sands Bethlehem Molten Lounge.
- It's last call for August summer sports camp sign-ups at Salisbury Township's Swain School. The camps, for school children from grades three through nine, begin next Monday. Click here for more information.
