Two Local Memorial Day Parades March Monday
The Allentown Lions Club Parade in Allentown and the Emmaus Memorial Day Parade will honor veterans from our area Monday.

Parades are a traditional way to mark Memorial Day morning and this year, there are two parades to choose from Monday in the local area.
The Allentown Lions Club Memorial Day Parade will be held rain or shine on Monday at 10 a.m.
The parade route begins North Main Street (Route 524) at the Allen Drive exit, heads south on Main Street through town and turns left on High Street (Route 539) to the elementary school.

In addition, prior to the start of the parade, there will be a bicycle decorating contest sponsored by the Allentown Business Community Association at 16 Allen Drive. All participants are welcomed to ride their bicycles in the parade.
A memorial service will follow the parade on the Allentown Grammar School grounds.

The annual Emmaus Memorial Day Parade will step off at 9 a.m. from the Emmaus High School parking lot onto North Street.
The route will continue onto Macungie Avenue, to Chestnut Street to Fourth Street and end at the Memorial Triangle where Third and Fourth Streets converge.Â
Stanley Reinhard, a U.S. Army veteran, will be the keynote speaker.
In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the Emmaus High School Auditorium at 9:30 a.m.
