Boy Scouts Honor Donald Snyder, Former South Whitehall Official

LCCC president and former state Rep. Donald Snyder receives the Silver Beaver Award from the Minsi Trails Council, BSA.

Lehigh Carbon Community College president Donald Snyder was recognized by the Boy Scouts of America, Minsi Trails Council, at its recent dinner and annual meeting for outstanding and distinguished service to community youth. For that, he received the Silver Beaver Award.

Snyder's involvement in scouting started in 1996 when he began serving on the advisory committee. He became an executive board member in 2009 and Council Vice President for Membership in 2010, a position he still holds.

Snyder, an Eagle Scout, has been instrumental in helping the Council overcome barriers to school access issues, which were resolved in five districts due to his efforts. Snyder hosted a membership summit aimed at making leaders aware of and asking for their help in improving membership issues. Educator meetings continue under his leadership seeking feedback from school personnel.
