Chickie's & Pete's Sports Bar Coming to Dorney Park

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is opening a full-service Chickie's & Pete's Sports Bar in the center of the amusement park, park officials announced Wednesday.

Dorney Park opens for the season on May 3.

Chickie's & Pete's is part of a popular sports bar chain that began in Philadelphia in 1977. The restaurant will feature memorabilia from the original Chickie's & Pete's and will incorporate the Dorney Park theme in several dishes and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with names such as the Dominator and the Talon, according to a news release.

The new sit-down restaurant and bar will be in the former Game Day Grille and is in addition to two Chickie's & Pete's stands that have been at the amusement park since 2011.

The restaurant will serve an expanded menu of its most popular dishes, including its famous crab fries, lobster cheese steaks and pizzas.

“We strive to provide our guests with the best dining experience possible and this partnership gives us the ability to do so with a local flavor,” Michael Fehnel, vice president and assistant general manager for Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, said in a statement released to the media.

Other new food and beverage additions include:

• A souvenir Coca-Cola bottle program offering free refills on the day of purchase and 99-cent refills.
• A dinner buffet option with Snoopy’s Cookout, an all-you-can-eat picnic buffet with character appearances by the Peanuts gang. Snoopy’s Cookout available on select days throughout the season.

Season passes are on sale now for six payments of $18.50 ($111) when purchased online using the easy pay payment plan. This season pass offer is available through May 27.
