Hello!
Today is my first day as editor of South Whitehall Patch and it’s no understatement when I say I am so excited to be here!

I've lived near South Whitehall for the past 16 years and I've grown to genuinely appreciate everything it has to offer.
In fact, one of my favorite spots in the Lehigh Valley happens to be the inside corner of the Tilghman Square Shopping Center. Whenever I get the chance, I visit Goodwill and Cottage Crafters looking for “treasures” – it’s one of my favorite pastimes.

A favorite family spot is Covered Bridge Park. When my sons were younger we spent many afternoons hanging out near the playground equipment and exploring the surrounding area. The boys are a little older now -- ages 16, 13 and 9 -- but we still reminisce about the fun times we spent wading in the creek and skipping rocks.
For the past two weeks I’ve enjoyed the expert tutelage of your outgoing editor, Mary Ellen Alu. For two years she has covered South Whitehall Township and although she has been promoted to Associate Regional Editor, I feel very lucky that she will be around to guide me as I get to know the area better.
During my short tenure here I've also learned a lot about what Patch is and how it provides a platform for the community to thrive. Patch is called "new media" but it strikes me that it is also a return to the "good old days" days when journalists had a single "beat" and covered everything - big and small.
In short, I'm looking forward to getting to know the South Whitehall community better and I hope to continue to make your Patch a leader in neighborhood content, conversation and commerce.
Please don't hesitate to call me at 610-295-7751 or email me at jennifer.rodgers@patch.com. I also encourage everyone to upload event information and pictures - I am excited to feature both on the site.
Sincerely,
Jen Rodgers
