"I'll Take 'Quotable Quotes' For $200"

But, these beauties will never be seen or heard on "Jeopardy."

I always wanted to appear as a contestant on"Jeopardy."  I even took the test and auditioned a couple of times. Never made the cut.

It was my grandmother's favorite game show until the day she died in 2006. Back in the day, Art Fleming hosted the show and Grannie's world stopped at noon when "Jeopardy," started.

The woman ate lunch every weekday afternoon on a table tray in front of the television in her Brooklyn apartment while she watched intently. It was amazing how many answers she knew.

My favorite category, of course, was Sports. But, I always enjoyed "Quotable Quotes."

Over the years, I've amassed a number of my own Quotable Quotes that bring a smile to my face when I'm feeling a little blue.

You'll probably never see these beauties on "Jeopardy," so I'll share them with you here.

1) "When I look back on the best times of my life, none of them were for my own good." -- Oscar Madison, "The Odd Couple."

2) "I'd still rather spend a day with a horse than with most of the people I know," -- Col. Sherman Potter, "M*A*S*H."

3) "My grandfather sold whiskey and hors'dourves. He always said 'what's a drink without a nosh?'" -- Hawkeye Pierce, "M*A*S*H."

4)  "The sea was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli," -- George Costanza, "Seinfeld."

5) "By the time they get to Albany in that hump-mobile he drives, it'll be Opening Day at Saratoga," -- Al Pacino as Col. Frank Slade in "Scent of a Woman."

And, as a bonus, here's a real life quote I heard several years ago that I chuckle about to this day:

"I've got nothing, and I'm $250 in the hole. And now, I'll have to eat fish sticks and peanut butter and jelly for the next week and a half." -- Former Washington Post racing writer John Scheinman after losing a Pick Four wager at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland.

Brings back great memories of Grannie's tuna salad lunch sandwiches eaten off those table trays.
