Parkland Principal, Special Ed Supervisor Retiring

Parkland School Board members lauded the Parkland principal and the special education supervisor for their work. Each have been in education 36 years.

Ironton Elementary School Principal Lynette C. Smith and Special Education Supervisor Louise A. Fick will both retire at the end of the school year, the Parkland School District announced last week.

Both Fick and Smith have each been in education for 36 years.

Parkland School members, at their meeting last week, praised both women for their work in the district.  

The following resignations also were announced:


—Michael K. Glass, teaching assistant at Parkland High School, effective Dec. 23.

—Christine Waterhouse, health room aide at Parkway Manor Elementary School, which was effective Nov 14.

—Andrew S. Nigrelli, DRP/Title 1 aide at Orefield Middle School, effective Dec. 19.

—Daniel Pfrost, assistant swim/dive coach at Parkland High School, which was effective Oct. 28.

—Colleen Welsh York, junior varsity girls' softball coach at Parkland High School, which was effective Nov. 5.

—Eric R. Kutteroff, girls' softball coach at Springhouse Middle School, which was effective Nov. 5.

—Elizabeth A. Smith, childrens' show costume manager at Parkland High School, which was effective Oct. 31.
