Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt Shop to Open

The first Sweet Frog frozen yogurt shop in the Lehigh Valley will open in South Whitehall.

The store, part of a national franchise that began in 2009 in Richmond, Va., will move in to the former Verizon Wireless store in Village West after renovations are complete. The phone store closed in September.

A new Elevation Burger store is undergoing renovations in Village West and will open soon.

Sweet Frog expects to have more than 260 stores in 23 states, including the U.K. and the Dominican Republic, according to the company website.

The frog in the name stands for "fully rely on God," although the stores' religous association is not overly apparent, according to an article in Advertising Age.

"We show that by being a good neighbor everywhere we move into. Through local partnerships, fundraisers, and much more, our stores become part of the fabric that wraps their communities," the company said.
