SWT Emergency Management Coordinator Wins Award

Jeff Kelly, was recently recognized with the Municipal Coordinator Award by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.

Kelly, who has served as the township's emergency management coordinator for 10 years, was nominated by his peers for exemplary performance.

Kelly was recognized for collaborating with two neighboring municipalities to host an emergency preparedness fair, which features 105 exhibits and draws 4,500 people annually.

He was instrumental in starting Parkland Area Emergency Management Group, a collaboration among schools, EMA, EMS, fire, police and colleges in South Whitehall, North Whitehall and Upper Macungie townships. The group is focused on school and community safety and has met quarterly since 2006.
