Upper Mac Building Damage Pegged At $250-$300K

Township offices are open today in Breinigsville.

Insurance adjusters pegged damage estimates to Upper Macungie's municipal building from a Parkland school bus accident at $250,000 to $300,000, supervisors said Monday night.

Supervisor Sam Ashmar, whose office was destroyed in the , said most of the electricity was operational in the building and temporary trailers were scheduled to be in place at the site, , for some township workers and state Senator Pat Browne's satellite office.

Longtime Parkland school district bus driver Kelly Smith was killed when her bus crashed into the municipal building at about 8 a.m. Monday. No students were on board when the accident happened.

An autopsy was scheduled for today, according to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim.
