Kampf Holding Day of Service on MLK Day

People will gather Jan. 19 "for hands-on activities and volunteer opportunities throughout our region."

Rep. Warren Kampf is urging his constituents to think of it as a day on, not a day off.

Kampf (R-157th) is planning his first-ever day of service this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, at Mt. Zion Church in Devon, people will gather “for hands-on activities and volunteer opportunities throughout our region,” Kampf’s office said.

Among the planned activities are making blankets; making cards for troops; and arranging food baskets for those in need.

“Studies show that service fosters awareness and helps pave the way toward a lifelong commitment to civic engagement and responsibility to one’s community,” Kampf’s office said.
