Das Awkscht Fescht and Musikfest Top Upper Macungie's Weekend
Events at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center and the nearby Lehigh Valley Zoo are also some of the weekend's best bets.

Summer is going by faster than we'd like, as we're now already into the first week of August. So, go out there and enjoy the mostly good weatherforecasted by the National Weather Service.
Here's your Weekend Planner for events in and around Upper Macungie this weekend:
- If it's August, Musikfest is back in the Lehigh Valley. There are more than 300 free shows during the festival. Featured performers this weekend are OneRepublic with Mayer Hawthorne and Churchill on Saturday and Skillet, We As Human, Decyfer Down, Thousand Foot Krutch on Sunday.Planning on attending Musikfest? - Das Awkscht Fescht runs Saturday and Sunday at Macungie Memorial Park. Gates open at 6 a.m. for walk-in visitors. The flea market runs through dusk, and arts & crafts vendors are open until 9 p.m. Classic cars are on display each day. Entertainment runs until 10:30 p.m. Saturday and until 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Fireworks are on tap Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for age 15 and under.
- Valley Preferred Cycling Center hosts a full lineup of events this weekend. Saturday's events start with Squirts lessons at 8 a.m., Pee-Wee Pedalers at 9 a.m., followed by Masters & Rookie races at noon. Sunday features practice for the Rodale Community Challenge, beginning at 3 p.m. Valley Preferred Cycling Center is located at 1151 Mosser Road in Breinigsville.
- The Lehigh Valley Zoo in nearby Schnecksville is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
- Liber-tee Mini Golf, at 7720 Adrienne Drive in Breinigsville, is open both Saturday and Sunday. Call 610-391-1477 for specific hours.
- The Terry Hill Water Park, at 10000 Hamilton Boulevard, is open for swimming Saturday and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.
