Driver Hurt in Crash With Tractor Trailer

Upper Macungie police say speed and a wet road led to a crash on Tilghman Street Wednesday morning.

Upper Macungie Police say a Philadelphia man was hurt Wednesday morning in a collision with a tractor trailer on Tilghman Street.

Police say Gurnie Singletary, 26, was headed east on Tilghman around 6 a.m. when he lost control of his car on the wet highway and hit a tractor trailer in the intersection of Tilghman and Snowdrift Road.

Singletary sustained what police described as a moderate head injury, and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, by Cetronia Ambulance.

The truck driver, 58-year-old Mark Berthot of Youngstown, OH, was not injured, police said.

Singletary will be cited for speeding, police said.
